Etching, 1889, Z.15, Original Ed. unknown, 7-13/16 x 6, signed with initials in the plate lower left, on cream laid paper, a vertical printing crease bottom margin left of center extending to seat of chair in image, original brown paper hinges verso. An unsigned proof printed by Weir's daughter Caro Weir Ely, outside the edition of 25 signed & numbered in pencil by her in 1927, and exhibited the same year at Keppel & Co. in New York City. A delicately inked impression of this ephemeral portrait of the artist's first wife Anna Baker Weir, showing the influence of Weir's friend Whistler. Descended in the family of the artist.
