"Self Portrait" Emilio Sanchez, (Cuban-American, 1921-1999)

Self Portrait, Watercolor, ca. 15-1/2 x 11-1/2, signed in pencil, on thick wove watercolor paper. Emilio Sanchez was an accomplished and prolific painter and printmaker from Cuba, who settled in New York. This early self portrait was a gift from the artist to Riva Castleman, late curator-emeritus of prints at MOMA.
