Regular price $2,000
Pen and Bistre Ink Drawing, 1978, 13-11/16 x 18-9/16, sheet 16 x 21, slight water stain confined to upper right margin corner away from image, signed and dated in ink lower right image corner, on a full sheet of cream laid WORTHY watermarked paper. A drawing with a dynamic arial perspective. Gorbaty is equally at home with painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking. A student of Gabor Peterdi, Albers and Louis Kahn at Yale, Gorbaty forged a successful career as illustrator and graphic designer while raising a family. He has never stopped working, and at age 87 after a recent tragic studio fire, he has begun to work again. His deep feeling for the forces of nature is evident in this decades long series of complex and elegant ink drawings.
