Laughing Breton by Gordon Grant, Amer., (1875-1962)

Drypoint, late 1930's, Ed. 46/150, 9-7/8 x 11, signed and numbered in pencil, on cream laid paper 13-3/16 x 9-1/8. Gordon Grant's superb draftsmanship and feeling for character are certainly manifest here in this graphically bold and memorable portrait study.  The tiny fly seen posing on the pencil elipse in Grant's signature however will not be manifest when The Laughing Breton arrives on your doorstep. But my, how flies time when we are photographing prints!
