Slate Print, 1966, Ed. 50 on various papers and fabrics, 26" x 21", signed, dated and annotated "mono print" in black ballpoint pen, printed in black on a golden burnt orange satin acetate. The ripples are a consequence of long framed storage, and may be humidified and relaxed. One of Kent's Gravestone Series, based on designs the artist observed on gravestones in the rural Connecticut towns surrounding his home and barn studio, and meant here to voice Kent's personal protest and rally cry against American engagement in the Vietnam War.
