"COME AND TAKE IT" (Chiefs of Staff) by William Kent, (Amer., 1919-2012)
Color Slate Print, 1964, printed 2008, Ed. of 6 known, 26 x 22, signed, dated and annotated monoprint in black ball point pen, printed in three colors on white cotton fabric. a few tiny touches of stray ink from the printing. The Title is from an early Texan flag and refers to a group of Texan secessionists who, when confronted by by Mexican nationalists demanding the surrender of a large cannon the Texans turned on them, said "Come and Get It". The figure second from left is General Curtis LeMay, US Air Force, who during the Vietnam War, threatened to knock the North Vietnamese "back to the Stone Age".
