Lithograph, 1930, Ed. 100, F.#48, 13-1/16 x 7-7/8, initialed in the stone, signed and dated '30 by the artist, lower right, and also by the printer George C. Miller lower left, in pencil, a small pinhole a top center margin edge, a pale trace of mat line on warm white RIVES BFK watermarked paper with full margins. Widely admired and held in the collections of major American museums, Brooklyn Bridge is one of Lozowick's most admired lithographs and an important American print at the dawn of the 1930's. Brooklyn Bridge utilizes modernist pictoral innovations, the radiating pattern of the tension cables and heightened play of light & shadow to celebrate the technological achievement and monumentality of both the bridge and the City of New York it has come to represent. Brooklyn Bridge is in the collections of these museums: MOMA, Brooklyn, NYPL, Boston, Philadelphia, and the National Museum of American Art.
