"New England Night" by C. W. Anderson, Amer., (1891-1971)

Lithograph, ca. 1930-40's, ed. 75, 9-13/16x13-1/4, signed & titled in pencil, on cream wove Rives paper. A trace of mat line. An unusual subject for Anderson, well known for his equine subjects, this beautiful and unusual New England nocturne, shows exquisite and subtle control of value. The stars for instance are barely discernable but add so much to the charm of this uncommon subject.
