"Cobwebs, or Brooklyn Bridge" by John Taylor Arms, Amer., (1887-1953)
Etching, 1921, F. 95, Ed.75, plus 10 trial proofs, 9-3/4" x 7-1/2", on thin cream laid paper, signed, dated 1920 and numbered in pencil. There are two expertly repaired tears to upper left margin and right margin center, well away from subject, a small loss to top margin edge at right. There is a slight mat line. Fletcher dates this print as 1921. Despite the two marginal tears, a fine impression of this desirable New York subject, which shows Arms' debt to Whistler in the shadowy figure entering at lower left, which looks as if he had wandered from one of Whistler's prints and straight into Arms' print.
