"Full Moon" by Sabra Johnson Field, Amer., (B. 1935)
Color Woodcut, ca. 1968, ed. 50, 16 x 8-3/4, signed, titled, & numbered in pencil, on warm white wove japan paper, lightly toned in mat opening. Living and working there since 1969, Sabra Field is known as the Artist Laureate of Vermont for her color woodcuts of it's rural landscape. Her work has included other subject matter; notably, early in her career when she lived in Connecticut and was known as Sabra Johnson. She studied printmaking at Weslyan with Russell T. Llimbach, and her work quickly developed the strong and distinctive reductive structure and vivid color for which she is known today.
