Etching, 1921, 6-1/8 x 3-7/8, signed and dated in the plate, on cream wove paper, another version of this composition with a second bison to the left was published in he Print Connoisseur, Vol. II, No. II, Dec. 1921. This version focuses attention on the lead bison contemplating the remains of a not so fortunate predecessor; a reminder of dangers encountered on the trail.
