Oil Crayon and Ink Drawing, ca. 1960, 10-11/16 x 8-1/4, staple holes to lower right corner, signed in pencil, on thin cream wove paper. Jack Fenstermacher was a cum laud graduate of Parsons School of Design, and studied fashion illustration in Paris. He was a professor of fashion illustration at F.I.T. in New York City. His work was distingushed by a free and painterly approach to mixed media. The bright color and dynamic composition lend a cheerful and inviting mood to this gritty mid century power plant and Brooklyn, NY landmark.
