"Honest Weight 3 Cents" by Marian Lerer, Amer., (1928-2017)

Regular price $200
Lithograph, ca. 1950's, Ed. unknown, 13-3/4 x 9-5/16, signed with the cursive initial "L" in the stone, on cream wove paper. This is one of five lithographs by Marian Lerer in inventory. A Carnival gamer waits patiently for his next customer while people cavort on the boardwalk or hurl through space on the ferris wheel in the distance. Lerer's sophisticated use of tusche wash for texture and saturated blacks point to an accomplished print maker with a distinctive style and something worthwhile to say. Marian Lerer trained at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Design in illustration, and worked for AT&T, American Book Company, and American Artists Group. Later in life she became a top ten ranked Senior Olympic competitive swimmer, traveling the world to compete. I'm pleased to present a few prints by her here.
