Chromolithograph, 1895, pub. by Louis Prang & Company, Boston, 9-3/8 x 11-3/4, signed in the stone Louis K Harlow and noted lower right Copyright L. Prang & Co. Boston USA, on smooth stiff clay coated card stock, the tiniest bit of surface loss at the upper right image edge and corner tip. Louis K. Harlow was a prolific watercolorist, illustrator and etcher, who's talents were most often pressed into service by Prang on a variety of projects. One of these was a series of paintings of California Missions, reproduced as here by Prang for a broader market still fascinated by the romance of the American west.
